Free-to-play League of Legends card game

Legends of Runeterra is a free-to-play card game by Riot games that exists in the same universe as the multiple online battle arena game, League of Legends. This strategy card game begins by building decks with your favorite League of Legends champions as well as exclusive LoR characters. They will each have their style and strategic advantage. You can expect face-offs to be dynamic; much of the combat will have opportunities for outplaying. Standout digital card game

Legends of Runeterra has its fair share of competitors like Hearthstone. In the world of digital card games, there is a pressure to buy booster packs as there is a chance of a rare and powerful card hiding there. In LoR, you purchase the cards directly. You can use premium currency or the resources you earned from expeditions, prologues, or ranked modes. 

But keep in mind, you can only have three copies of one card in your collection. This will cut deep if you receive a fourth rare card as it will automatically be broken down into currency or Shards. Epic or champion cards, on the other hand, will be turned into a different but equally rare card that is not yet in your deck. 

This in-game economy is generous when compared to Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering. The reason for this is that Legends of Runeterra does not waste your time with booster packs. Instead, you are encouraged to purchase the exact card you want. You can also earn a card from completing quests and from the Weekly Vault feature. Perhaps best of all,  Epic and Champion cards are converted to new and coveted cards. 

Extremely rewarding gameplay

Legends of Runeterra offers two in-game currencies, namely Shards and Coins. You can earn Shards as you play while you can purchase Coins at any time. With this, there is no need to pay to unlock certain features. Instead, you must complete quests and earn experience to allow you to advance in the game and unlock new cards. 

Another way LoR stands out from the competition is that you get to decide which region you unlock first. Along with deciding where your cards come from, you can switch regions whenever you want. This allows you to create your deck faster and easier. 

There is also a very exciting random feature called the Vault. As you play, the Vault upgrades its chests. This increases your chances of the number of cards you get from each. For example, a vault will automatically have one random champion card once you reach level 10 and above.

Hits all the right marks  

All in all, Legends of Runeterra is more than a League of Legends spinoff. In the game, you can get the champions, creatures, and characters from LoL, but in a completely different environment. LoR is the right balance between strategic depth and accessibility, giving players more options and control over the cards the play. The result is a diverse meta where endless experimentation is encouraged.
